Privacy notice

Last updated Oct 12, 2026. What handyai.news keeps when you read, ask a question, comment or use the APIs, and who else handles it.

The short version

There are no ads, no tracking pixels, no accounts and no cookies for readers. We keep a small amount of data to run the site, count readers and keep Ask Handy AI within its limits. We do not sell it.

When you read the site

Each request is logged with the time, page, country, referring site, browser user agent and, for MCP calls, the method, tool and client name. Instead of your IP address we store a short one-way hash of your IP, user agent and the day, which lets us count unique readers without knowing who you are. The detailed log keeps roughly the latest 20,000 requests, and older days are folded into daily totals.

When you ask Handy AI a question

Your question is sent to Anthropic, whose Claude model writes the answer, and the model may search the web for it. We keep the question, your country, the sources used, the cost and timing in our logs so we can watch quality and spend. To apply the daily limit we store a salted one-way hash of your IP address and the day, deleted after three days.

Your browser keeps your recent questions and answers and how many you have left today, in local storage on your device. You can clear them with "Clear" in Your questions or by clearing site data.

Comments, votes and highlights

What you post, and the name you give, is public. Your browser keeps a random token so you can vote and manage what you posted; it is not linked to your identity. To stop flooding, a comment also stores a one-way hash of your network address that changes every day; the address itself is never stored.

Newsletter

The subscribe form sends your email address straight to Substack, which runs the Handy AI newsletter. Substack's own privacy policy covers it.

Who else handles data

Cloudflare hosts the site, its database and its images, and sees every request. Anthropic processes Ask questions. Google Fonts serves the site's typeface, so your browser requests it from Google. Story images may load from Substack's image CDN. Each handles data under its own privacy policy.

Your choices

You can read without asking, commenting or subscribing. To have a comment or question removed, reply to any Handy AI newsletter or reach us through handyai.substack.com, and tell us what to remove.
